School Uniforms

The school board has decided to create a district wide policy of enforcing school uniforms. Who would you need to interview to find out more information about this topic? What are some good questions to ask?

1. Why are uniforms necessary?
2. What benefits will this have on students?
3. On their learning and grades?
4. On their behavior?
5. What caused you to make this decision?
6. What about the students who can't afford uniforms or can't afford to wash them everyday?
7. Does this effect their freedom of expression?
8. What are the penalties of not wearing the uniforms?
9. Will teachers have to wear uniforms as well?
10. Do you think the students will find it fair if not (teachers wearing uniforms)?
11. Will the students be happy with this decision?
12. Will the uniforms depend on gender?
13. If so, what about the people who are not comfortable in those gender-specific clothes?
14. What will you say to students who are uncomfortable in the clothes in general?
15. What if a student grows out of the uniform? 
16. Do they need to pay for a new one or is it already paid for?
17. What will uniforms say about our district as a whole?
18. Will Elementary students need to wear uniforms as well?
19. Will accessories by limit, worn freely, or not allowed?
20. Will students need to change their back pack as well to match the uniform policy?
